Our Senior Management Team
Lisa M. Nelson, RN, BSN, MS, Chief Executive Officer
Lisa has over 23 years of experience in the healthcare industry. Ms.Nelson spent 7-years with Abilene Regional Medical Center taking on progressive leadership roles as the Director of Case Management, Patient Intake, and the Administrative Director of the Medical, Surgical and Pediatric Departments. Lisa also spent 1-year as the Administrator of Outreach Home Health Services with over site to a branch office in San Angelo, Texas and 9-administrative sites throughout a 19-county service area. Most recently, Ms. Nelson worked as a Clinical Practice Manager in a very successful, growing interventional cardiology office as part of a 12-physician multi-specialty group.
Lisa earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Minot State University in North Dakota, and a Master’s of Science in Healthcare Administration from Central Michigan University.
Bill Grey, Chief Financial Officer
Bill has over 23 years experience in the healthcare industry -- the first half of his career as a CFO/COO, and over 12 years as a hospital CEO. His experience has been primarily in acute care hospitals, however recently serving as a CEO at a HealthSouth Rehab for over 6 years. Mr. Grey has operated numerous units within the healthcare spectrum, spanning services such as LTACH; SNF; Home Health; Adult, Adolescent and Child Psychiatry; Physician Practice Management; and Outpatient Therapy clinics. Mr. Grey has a bachelor's degree in Economics, and a Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, both from Duke University.
Scott Werner, PT, ATC-L, Chief Therapy Officer
Scott has 6 years of clinical and management experience in the therapy arena including inpatient, out-patient, sports rehabilitation, industrial rehabilitation, pediatric, acute care and skilled nursing facilities. Mr. Werner is a licensed physical therapist as well holds a national certification in athletic training, and a Texas licensure in athletic training. Mr. Werner has been in multiple sucessful start up and growth operations throughout his career. Scott received his Masters in Physical Therapy and Masters of Athletic Training from Texas Tech University. Mr. Werner has maintained all professional organization affiliation since graduation and continues to support the progressive development of the therapy profession.
Phares Miles Kern Huelar, RN, BSN, Chief Nursing Officer
Miles is a graduate from the first nursing school in the Philippines, Central Philippine University (Iloilo Mission Hospital School of Nursing). He started his clinical nursing career in the state of Texas and has worked in various nurisng disciplines in Texas and New Hampshire. As a registered nurse for more than 18 years, Miles has held staff and management positions in critical care, oncology, medical-surgical units and Employee Health, including Clinical Supervisor of Medical-Surgical/Oncology units at Christus St. Joseph's Health System. He spent the last six years with Abilene Regional Medical Center on the progressive care unit. There he served as a relief charge nurse and held several membership and chairmanship roles in Nursing Leadership Group, Patient Advocacy Team, Pain Control Team and the Clinical Ladder Program.
Robert Krackenfels, Director of Facilities Management
Robert Krackenfels comes to Reliant Rehabilitation Hospital with over 11 years of experience in the Healthcare sector. His experience ranges from working in acute care facilities to long term care facilities. He is proficient and knowledgeable in all local and state agency guidelines and he has played a major role in leading his companies to successful Joint Commission accreditations. He has been a resident in the Abilene area for over 32 years, and he has made numerous contributions throughout the community. His broad professional experience not only contains healthcare experience but, he has also worked with Long Electric, Lockheed Martin and was Master Inspector for many years.
Kent Johnson, RN, BBA, Senior Clinical Liaison
Kent Johnson holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a major in Management and a minor in Marketing from the University of Texas – Arlington. He also holds an Associate of Applied Science in Nursing degree from Angelo State University. As a Registered Nurse, he has worked in E.R., ICU, and Med Surg. Kent has many years of management and marketing experience for companies such as Pharmerica, as Regional Nurse Manager, Pet’s Choice, as Hospital Administrator overseeing two hospitals, and as a Community Liaison for home health and hospice companies including VNA as Regional Marketer. Most recently, Kent served as Marketing Director/ Nurse Liaison/ Admissions Director for a long-term care facility. Kent will serve as Senior Clinical Liaison for Reliant Rehabilitation Hospital of Abilene.
